
It’s been 40 years since the inaugural concert of the mighty WurliTzer here at the Capri theatre and we plan to celebrate in style. We have a whole year of exciting concerts planned and below we launch the events for the first half of the year.
Brett Kavanagh & Debbie Fitzsummons…at the Cinema!
SUNDAY 26TH FEBRUARY, 2PM

Brett and Debbie are coming to The Capri in February 2023 with our biggest line-up ever of music from the screen, as well as some epic music which has underscored great cinematic moments.
From sci-fi to fantasy, drama to musicals to animation, Ennio Morricone to Paul Williams, there will be something for all ages from two of Australia’s top theatre pipe organ performers.
Brett and Debbie have wowed audiences in Brisbane and the Gold Coast with their musicianship and fun personalities. Debbie performed in Adelaide five years ago in a very successful Christmas concert, while it will be Brett’s first performance at the Capri Theatre, having previously played duets with Tony Fenelon at the Perth Convention in 2018.

Hits of the 80s plus Dirty Dancing (M)
FRIDAY 31ST OF MARCH, 7PM
A fundraising evening featuring local artists playing hits of the 80s on the mighty WurliTzer, followed by one of the most iconic films of the era, Dirty Dancing.

Strike Up The Band: Chris McPhee & Rosanne Hosking
SATURDAY 1ST OF APRIL, 2PM
Chris, on the WurliTzer, assisted by vocalist Rosanne, will feature music from the big band era. They will be joined by the acclaimed City of Unley Concert Band.

Magical Movie Moments: John Atwell & Tony Fenelon
SUNDAY 2ND OF APRIL, 2PM
Two of the three organists from the inaugural 1983 concert will play the WurliTzer organ to celebrate its 40 years in the Capri, with Magical Movie Music.

Celebrated theatre organist Chris McPhee, featuring Peter Goers. Stories of the mighty Regent Theatre on its 95th anniversary and show biz hilarity and Adelaide nostalgia from a master storyteller and a superb theatre organist on the Capri’s mighty Wurlitzer heard at its inestimable best.
