Packed with timeless soul and R&B anthems including Mustang Sally, Try a Little Tenderness, Chain of Fools, Take Me to the River and In the Midnight Hour, this is a night made for singing along, clapping, and yes… dancing in the aisles.
Released in 1991 and directed by Alan Parker, The Commitments follows an ambitious young Dubliner determined to form “the world’s hardest-working soul band.” Based on Roddy Doyle’s bestselling novel, the film became an international hit thanks to its infectious humour, memorable characters and spectacular soundtrack. Remarkably, most of the cast were unknown actors and musicians when filming began, lending the performances an authenticity that has helped the film earn its enduring cult status.
Love Soul Deep have already proved this format is a winner. Their Blues Brothers event had the Capri audience on their feet, singing, dancing and demanding an encore. Now they’re back with another high-energy celebration of one of cinema’s greatest music movies.
