High Society – New Year’s Eve
December 31 @ 8:00 pm – 11:59 pm
Join us as we bid farewell to 2026 in true Hollywood style with the 70th Anniversary of the sparkling musical classic High Society.
Your evening begins with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival, followed by a special performance on the Mighty WurliTzer theatre organ. Host Peter Goers will then welcome everyone before we take a nostalgic trip back to the golden age of cinema with a classic cartoon and vintage footage celebrating two of the film’s legendary stars, Grace Kelly and Louis Armstrong.
After a 20-minute interval to stretch your legs and top up your refreshments, settle in for High Society (1956), the glamorous musical remake of The Philadelphia Story. Starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and featuring the incomparable Louis Armstrong and his band, the film is filled with wit, romance and unforgettable songs by Cole Porter.
The movie also holds a special place in Hollywood history. It was Grace Kelly’s final film before she retired from acting to become Princess Grace of Monaco, making High Society a fitting farewell to one of cinema’s greatest stars. The film introduced the timeless duet “True Love,” performed by Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly, which became a million-selling hit and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Louis Armstrong doesn’t simply provide the soundtrack—he appears throughout the film, bringing his trademark warmth, humour and world-class musicianship to every scene.
As midnight approaches, we’ll draw our raffle, recharge our glasses with another complimentary drink, and count down together while watching the spectacular Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks on the big screen to welcome 2027 in the company of fellow movie lovers.
It’s an elegant, relaxed and uniquely Capri way to celebrate the New Year—complete with Hollywood legends, live theatre organ music, plenty of bubbles, and memories you’ll treasure long after the clock strikes twelve.
