Coorong Future Initiative
oin CFI for a contemporary version of Colin Thiele's Storm Boy - a timeless Australian tale of an unusual and unconditional friendship (https://stormboythefilm.com).
CFI (https://www.instagram.com/coorong.fi/) is a not-for-profit that exists to raise the profile of the Coorong, one of Australia's most iconic wetlands, and to secure funds to implement ecological research and conservation for positive change.
Funds raised on the night from ticket sales and a raffle (prizes include Haigh’s Chocolates and Ngeringa wines!) will help scientists to monitor breeding colonies of Fairy Terns, an endangered species in South Australia, in the Coorong this summer. The Coorong is the Fairy Tern's historic stronghold in South Australia; however, it now only supports a fifth of the Fairy Terns that called the Coorong home 30 years ago. This research will enable a better understanding of what the future holds for the Fairy Tern, and is critical in better informing management for their conservation.
