Please join Aphasia SA for a film social and fundraising event at The Capri Theatre.
Arrival time: 6.00pm. We will meet in the foyer. We will be selling raffle tickets and raffle off some prizes.
At 6.15pm we will go into the theatre to listen to the theatre organ played by a volunteer from The Theatre Organ Society of South Australia.
At 6.30pm the film will begin.
Film information: In partnership with the House of Dior, MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and decides that she must have one of her own. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris which will change not only her own outlook, but the very future of the House of Dior.

Aphasia SA is a volunteer-run association in South Australia that provides support for people with aphasia, their families, and carers. The association was specifically designed for people with aphasia, with the involvement of people with aphasia, their families and carers, and speech pathologists. Aphasia is a language impairment resulting from stroke, brain tumour, head injury, or degenerative disease, which impacts the ability to speak, understand speech, read, and write. People with aphasia may experience limited occupational, family, and social roles, and altered relationships and quality of life resulting from their communication difficulties.
Aphasia SA aims to:
• Provide information and support.
• Raise public and professional awareness of aphasia.
• Promote social opportunities and conversation through Talkback Groups and regular social events.
• Help develop social and self-help groups and programs.
• Develop advocacy skills.
• Support people with aphasia to develop confidence in their communication, and take control over their own lives.
