SUMMARY:Crocodile Dundee: The Encore Cut + Q&A with Delvene Delaney & Victoria Baldock
DESCRIPTION:The legendary Mick “Crocodile” Dundee returns to the big screen in Australian cinemas in 2025. CROCODILE DUNDEE: THE ENCORE CUT\, features a meticulous restoration in an exhilarating visual experience of the Australian outback and our Aussie hero\, Mick Dundee. Audiences old and new will thrill at every adventure\, share a heartfelt laugh\, and enjoy the infectious charm of Mick Dundee\, in the encore of Australia’s most iconic film ever. \n\n\n\n\nBefore the movie we’ll be joined by Delvene Delaney and Victoria Baldock for a chat on stage with Leith Forrest from 5AA. \n\n\n\nDelvene Delaney\, a beloved Australian TV personality and model\, starred on The Paul Hogan Show for nine years and co-hosted Sale of the Century. She later joined her husband\, Crocodile Dundee producer John Cornell\, as crew on Crocodile Dundee II and now leads Rimfire Films. Together with Victoria Baldock\, an experienced media executive specialising in international content licensing\, she spearheaded the global distribution revival and 4K restoration of Crocodile Dundee. Their deep dive into archives uncovered rare behind-the-scenes material\, inspiring them to create Love of an Icon: The Legend of Crocodile Dundee\, a documentary celebrating the film’s legacy. \n\n\n\n\nFun fact: by some twist of fate\, Crocodile Dundee opened in Adelaide exclusively at the Capri and the Regent. We broke the box office record for takings in Australia for a suburban cinema AND made enough money to pay our mortgage off 12 years early! So where else would you choose to see this iconic film on the big screen other than in this iconic building? \n\n\n\n7:00pm – drinks in the foyer \n\n\n\n7:15pm – the mighty WurliTzer theatre organ \n\n\n\n7:30pm – Q&A on stage \n\n\n\n8:30pm – Crocodile Dundee: The Encore Cut

SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen - Dawn of Impressionism
DESCRIPTION:The Impressionists are the most popular group in art history – millions flock every year to marvel at their masterpieces. But\, to begin with\, they were scorned\, penniless outsiders. 1874 was the year that changed everything; the first Impressionists\, “hungry for independence”\, broke the mould by holding their own exhibition outside official channels. Impressionism was born and the art world was changed forever. \n\n\n\nWhat led to that first groundbreaking show 150 years ago? Who were the maverick personalities that wielded their brushes in such a radical and provocative way? The spectacular Musée d’Orsay exhibition brings fresh eyes to this extraordinary tale of passion and rebellion. \n\n\n\nThe story is told not by historians and curators but in the words of those who witnessed the dawn of Impressionism: the artists\, press and people of Paris\, 1874. \n\n\n\nMade in close collaboration with the Musee d’Orsay and National Gallery of Art\, Washington D.C.

SUMMARY:Macbeth: David Tennant & Cush Jumbo
DESCRIPTION:David Tennant (Doctor Who\, Broadchurch) and Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife\, Criminal Record) lead a stellar cast in an ‘enthralling’ (Daily Telegraph) new production of Shakespeare’s MACBETH\, filmed live at the Donmar Warehouse in London\, especially for the big screen. Unsettling intimacy and brutal action combine at breakneck speed as Max Webster (Life of Pi\, Henry V) directs this tragic tale of love\, murder\, and nature’s power of renewal. With staging ‘full of wolfish imagination and alarming surprise’ (The Guardian)\, the immersive 5.1 cinema surround sound places the audience inside the minds of the Macbeths\, asking are we ever really responsible for our actions? \n\n\n\nThis is a special event screening\, so we’ve included a glass of bubbles in your ticket price AND the mighty WurliTzer theatre organ will play the session in from 2:15pm. There will be a non-alcoholic bubbles option available.

SUMMARY:Twilight Time - special screening with Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening of John Hughes’ new documentary\, TWILIGHT TIME\, plus a special Q&A session with Film Director John Hughes after the film. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTWILIGHT TIME is a gripping profile of one of the world’s greatest scholars of military strategy and defence\, the Australian professor Desmond Ball – the man who unflinchingly examined Cold War nuclear strategy and advocated for the sovereign defence of Australia.Hailed by former US president Jimmy Carter as “the man who saved the world” for his work proving the fallacy of the doctrine of ‘limited nuclear war’\, Ball is remembered as the ‘insurgent intellectual’ whose life-long investigation of controversial US military base Pine Gap enraged Australia’s defence establishment. Ball’s opposition and activism against the American war in Vietnam in the 1960s earned him decades of ASIO surveillance. After the fall of the Berlin Wall\, Ball offered guidance on signals intelligence to ethnic minorities targeted by the Burmese military. His work on Australian governments’ complicity with the Indonesia invasion of East Timor in 1975 gave the public a taste of secrets governments would prefer remain hidden.Employing a wealth of archival footage\, veteran documentarian John Hughes (Senses of Cinema\, MIFF 2022) captures the heated atmosphere of late-20th-century geopolitics through a distinctly Australian lens\, bearing witness to events such as US ambassador Ed Clarke’s ‘peppercorn’ speech at North West Cape\, Gough Whitlam’s infamous dismissal from office and the civil unrest that rocked the nation during the Vietnam War. Twilight Time is a rich – and tremendously timely – look at Australia’s complicated involvement in global strategy\, defence policy and mass surveillance.
